Bluestem eCommerce Platform Checkout

Checkout for the responsive Bluestem eCommerce Platform. This 3 Step checkout is currently used by 2 brands, Fingerhut.com and Gettington.com. Ultimately, this will be the Checkout platform for 15 different brands for as we migrate brands from OCP to our BCP responsive site.

Customer problems solved or enhancements gained by going from OCP to our own commerce platform:

  • Address editing on the final step, Review & Place order.

  • Increased clarity in payment step

  • Added promo and catalog code entry on all steps on mobile

  • Product images on Step 3, Review & Place Order

  • One single responsive site instead of a separate m. site

  • Increased conversion rate on mobile by .8%

Step 2 - Payment

Step 3, Review & Place Order. Returning customers often land on this step, experiencing 1 Step Checkout as a result.

The Payment step (step 2) on mobile was going to be an accordion design for the 4 payment options. However, we had to descope that during development and support the tabbed format that was also used on larger viewports. 

After release, we added segmented controls to mobile view to better focus down payment methods. This UI control contributed significantly to an improved conversion rate on mobile devices for this customer segment.
